When experience matters.
At BT Transport & Logistics, we understand the need for detailed planning, sense of urgency, and the need for accuracy during Resource Logistics movements, not to mention the high cost of delay and loss of revenue when not handled effectively.
BT can draw on many years of experience in resource logistics projects. Thanks to this knowledge and experience, we can make realistic and cost-efficient project plans that you can rely on.
We offer a range of Resource Logistics services, including:
We service many remote areas of Australia on a regular basis, including Alice Springs, the Cooper Basin, Darwin, Gladstone, Kimberley, Newman, Pilbara, Pimba, Port Hedland, Roma, the Surat Basin and Woomera.
Our resource logistics team members are experts in their field and can draw on many years of experience working with leading companies in the sector.
We have worked with all of Australia’s major resource types, from iron ore to coal, natural gas to petroleum, aluminium and gold, as well as Renewables. Recent examples include the Roxby Downs expansion (SA), Olympic Dam expansion (SA), the Carrapateena Mine construction and expansion (SA), railway line extensions in Port Hedland (WA), the Surrat Basin campaign (QLD), the Miles mine expansion (QLD), the Mindarie mine relocation from SA to WA, the Tinamba pipeline project (VIC), the Hornsdale Wind Farm (SA), Ganawarra Solar plant (VIC) or Glenrowan Solar Farm (VIC), to name but a few.
Our extensive range of vehicles and trailer configurations enables us to move all types of freight, and allows for nationwide movements with high responsiveness to changes. We operate and maintain a core fleet of over 430 specialised vehicles and trailing equipment, including:
We create custom-made project plans in close cooperation with our customers, project managers, Health and Safety Department and field supervisors.
Part of the planning process is to identify where customisation needs to take place, leveraging the local in-field knowledge of our teams.
We service Resource Industry clients Australia-wide with a broad range of services.
BT Transport & Logistics has been involved in various constructions of solar farms and wind farms, proudly supporting Australia’s Renewable Energy sector. Moreover, we provide in-gauge and out-of-gauge movements, heavy haulage and more for construction of and infrastructure around new mine sites or mine site expansions and oil and gas projects in Western Australia, Queensland, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales.
We serve the government with civil construction and infrastructure projects supporting the resources sector. This also includes transport and storage of all manner and sizes of pipe, for instance for water pipelines and gas pipelines.
Rig Moves are an important part of our Resource Logistics activities, and we have processes and procedures in place to ensure that each Rig Move is performed safely, efficiently, and compliant with legislation and customer requirements. We can provide efficient door-to-door service, or for import and export off-wharf service, mobilising state-of-the art equipment for every rig move, such as cranes, trucks, vessels and rigging equipment. For overseas moves, the expertise of our international partners can be used, resulting in best practice door-to-door service.
Working with some of the most exacting companies in the oil industry has given us the experience to offer a set of best practice systems and procedures when it comes to rig moves, making implementation safer and faster.
Monitoring the progress is a critical component to the BT approach which has a strong focus on outcomes and an uncompromising proactive issue-identification process to avoid problems or delays before they occur.
Although a great deal of effort has been applied to develop best practices, each resource logistics project is slightly different. Part of the planning process is therefore to identify where customization needs to take place and leverage the local knowledge of our teams.
Post-move reviews: After a resource logistics move, so-called post-move meetings are organised together with our client to evaluate the project. The relevant aspects are updated in the manuals to close the loop.
We have a track record of satisfied customers in the resources sector, and we strive to not only meet, but exceed customer expectations.
