News teams took over some of BT's head office in Cavan this afternoon, recording a media release and interviewing South Australia's Premier Jay Weatherill, Treasurer Tony Koutsantonis and our CEO Phillip Mills about the Job Accelerator Scheme and its Job Creation Grants.

When the Job Accelerator Scheme was announced in the 2016-17 State Budget, BT saw an opportunity and applied for grants totalling $170,000 for 17 new staff. The State Government now wants to encourage other businesses to apply for the grant and create jobs.

As part of the $109 million Job Accelerator Grants announced in the State Budget, eligible businesses can receive up to $10,000 for each person that is employed in addition to the current staff. These Job Creation Grants are paid in two instalments, each on the anniversary of the increased employment level. Moreover, Small business and Start-up grants are available.

At BT, the grants will be invested throughout the business, creating sustainable growth that is driven by well-trained employees and state-of-the-art and well-maintained fleet and equipment.

Before leaving, both Premier and Treasurer picked up a copy of our latest Beattie Times newsletter, and they were impressed by some of our regular loads. If you haven't read it yet, make sure you pick up a copy at one of our depots or download it from our website.
